Top 10 Signs You’re An Early Adopter

Here are the Top 10 Signs you’re an early adopter:

10. You know the exact difference in features between Tumblr and Posterous and why you prefer one over the other.

9. You stalk the social web looking for alpha and beta invites.

8. You’ve lost track of how many accounts you have on hundreds of different websites.

7. You loved FriendFeed and still think that if it had held out, it would’ve become popular.

6. You accept Android fragmentation as a fact of life and don’t see what the issue is all about.

5. You have a Google Profile tailored to your needs and preferences.

4. You use your account on GetSatisfaction to report bugs and provide feedback.

3. You love Gmail and can’t figure out why anyone would want to use anything else.

2. You have RSS for breakfast.

And the #1 sign you’re an early adopter is:

1. You are still searching for the “perfect” Twitter client!

Do you need all 10 to count?

    I think I scored less than 5.

    Heh…this isn’t a scoring game! And you don’t need any qualifiers. :)

I sure would love to find some of these early adopters! @@ They are a rarebreed lol

Feels like there should be an Early Adopter voting block :).

The problem with us as customers/users is that we can't make a business huge (although we can help it get started) and we change tools often so it's hard to make it sustainable. The latter isn't always true, I'm still using TweetDeck, twitter, and WordPress.

lol. a friend of mine has 10 of 10. i can't hardly belive it

Ummm…YA! We could add a whack more to this list but the #1 search is still on, I'm flipping between TweetDeck & Hootsuite at the moment, I like the app over the web solution though, what about you?

  • http://www.skepticgeek.com Mahendra

Hey Owen! I prefer app over web, but don't like AIR, prefer Silverlight (I'm a PC guy). I tried Mixero for a better UI but it has its limitations. So currently sticking to TweetDeck, and waiting for an improved version of Seesmic Desktop 2 Preview!

Just as a sidenote, I'm the friend BoticaPop refers to above :)

Have you been spying on me? I just couldn't believe it when I read this. I guess it takes one Early Adopter to know another. I follow your shared posts in Google Reader (where else?) and this is one of the best posts I've read in a long while. I hope you don't mind if I translate this to spanish. More people need to know this! :)

    Standing ovation from Mexico City

7/10 ain't bad. Not sure twitter can be considered early adopter anymore though.

It's not about Twitter. It's about remaining unsatisfied with the best Twitter client, yearning for something better, and always checking out newer versions of new clients.
